From the Thompson Bros of Dornoch Distillery comes a remarkable single grain Scotch whisky, distilled at Edinburgh’s North British Distillery, and matured for over three decades.
This parcel delivers everything you’d hope from well-aged grain: soft vanilla cream, gentle oak, and a sweetness that only emerges after 30 years in cask. On the nose, think butterfly cakes topped with vanilla icing and tinned pineapple. The palate brings spiced ginger tea with lavender honey, before opening into a long tropical finish of fresh pineapple, coconut, and caramelised toasted walnuts.
Our exclusive edition is limited to just 60 bottles, each bearing a label cut from a 1949 Edinburgh Civic Survey map. For this release, the Thompson Bros selected the section showing Leith, pinpointing the very spot where our Port of Leith Distillery now stands.
A rare and quite extraordinary dram, tied to the history of Edinburgh and Leith.
